The ASICS Relay 2017 is on the 7th October 2017 in Putrajaya – demonstrating ASICS commitment to running as a sport and its salute to team spirit. This time round, runners will run through the garden city of Kuala Lumpur – Putrajaya which offers a different kind of city view, both magnificent and scenic! This year, the ASICS Relay will kick-off in Jakarta (19th August), coming to Malaysia (7th October), heading to Singapore (4th November) and ending in Thailand.
Team Spirit – 4 Is Better Than One
The uniqueness of the team relay shines heavily on the beauty of team work and allows runners to bond with their team mates. The idea of running a 21km or 42km distance may seem daunting to most aspiring runners, however, the relay concept offers runners the opportunity to bag their first marathon or half marathon experience.
Individual team members will need to complete 2 loops of the 5.25km distance for the Full Marathon category or just 1 loop of the 5.25km distance for the half marathon category. The relay token is then handed over to next runner within the designated transition zone. Unite your team for a truly memorable bonding night with your buddies!
The Route
The run will kickoff from the Ceremonial Seri Gemilang Bridge leading runners to the heritage square where the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) is situated. Runners will also run around Dataran Gemilang, passing many iconic building such as the Attorney General Chambers of Malaysia offices and the Tunki Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque. This mosque has a unique stainless steel structure which is quite a sight!
