What is a
virtual run?
A virtual run is a race that you can complete at your own pace and time.
Virtual running works exactly the same as any other type of running but the difference is that the entered race can be run at any location, either outside or inside on a treadmill.
All you have to do is register for a race and provide evidence that you have done it. The evidence can be a screenshot of your running app, a photo of the treadmill screen etc. Do check out specific instructions of the event you join for more information.
Virtual races are a great way to stay fit and active all year round, run for good causes and get awesome medals and other entitlements for your participation!

SMU is celebrating its 21st anniversary and we are marking the occasion with a fundraising virtual race, SMOO Challenge 2021.
We aim to accomplish a collective distance of 50,000km in 21 days, from 3 – 24 September 2021, and raise $400,000 which will go towards creating bursaries for students in need. As OneSMU, we hope to marshal the entire community including members of the public to run/walk for a good cause.
Registration fee is $21 and there are six race categories to choose from — 5km, 10km, 21km, 50km, 100km and 210km (to complete over 21 days). Race tees cost $21 too; Nett proceeds from registration fees and sale of race tees will go towards the SMU Bursary Fund. Furthermore, with a Tote Board dollar-for-dollar matching of all funds raised, your contribution and impact will be doubled.
Join us for this virtual run! Keep fit and healthy both mentally and physically whilst doing good at the same time!
