Northern Kia Runners

Northern Kia Runners (NKR), was formed in March 2015, with the objective to gather the runners (beginner/intermediate/advanced) who are staying in the North zone to promote healthy life – style and racial harmony.

How “Northern Kia runners” got it name?
Northern Kia- Why Northern Kia? Northern Kia, the word kia if you interpret in Hokkien is kid. As we usually run around the north area such as Admiralty, Woodlands, Sembawang, Marsiling etc. Therefore Northern kia also known as Northern Kid and we want to make our home ground like our kumpung, running around the estate freedom.

Our motto: “You Never Run Alone” in short YNRA, aims to promote running and to motivate each other thru group runs. In order to encourage more office worker to join us, NKR organize their runs in the evenings on weekdays and morning trainings on weekends, to facilitates more flexibility for the busy schedules of the working class.

We welcome all keen individuals to join us for our group runs, to promote fitness and also to build new friendships with the running community within the zone. NKR will usually run around the northern areas in Woodlands, Sembawang & Yishun, to name a few towns we are currently covering.
