The Old Ghost Ultra Marathon is run entirely on The Old Ghost Rd, New Zealand's newest and longest continuous single-track, located near Westport on the West Coast of the South Island.
Touted as an ultra-marathon to 'test the best', competitors will face more than 2600 metres of cumulative elevation gain and will have 17 hours to complete the course, with the fastest expected to finish in as little as 8 to 9 hours.
The Old Ghost Ultra is a collaboration between Top of the South Events Ltd (ToSE) and the Mokihinui-Lyell Backcountry Trust.
